The new Albany/Clinton County Wellness Center is a multi-phase project that is a joint effort of the City of Albany and the Clinton County Fiscal Court. The project will address all the community health and recreational needs.
The project will include a competition size swimming pool, an instructional/therapy pool, dressing rooms, sauna and hot tub in the wet area. The fitness area includes a cardio exercise room, weight room, aerobics / martial arts area and day care center. There is also a community room with kitchen, reception area, lounge, concession and administrative offices. The gymnasium area contains a full size basketball court, elevated walking track, racquet ball courts and a children’s exercise arcade. Future outside plans include a swimming pool, soccer fields and ball fields.
The first phase (phases I & II) includes the pool, locker rooms, lobby, weight room, cardio room, aerobics room, lounge and administrative offices. This $3,800,000 project will be partially funded by a CDBG grant administered by the Lake Cumberland Area Development District.
