Information Services Center

Kentucky State Police

Phase I - 2008

Frankfort, KY

The Kentucky State Police Information Services Center is a two phased project designed around a central public lobby. Located on a 4.5 acre site in Frankfort, Kentucky, this 63,000 SF facility is the center for statewide communications, criminal records, computer technology and electronic crime investigation for KSP.

The facility includes such areas as administration, training rooms, conference rooms, Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) laboratories, Sex Offender Registry, criminal records processing and dissemination, Conceal Carry Deadly Weapon(CCDW) records, electronic crime forensic units, communications (including radio shop and garage), computer technology workrooms and the statewide computer HELP desk workroom.

Because of the site configuration and the independent operation of the individual departments the building developed into a “main street” concept with a central “street” and a ‘town square” with the departments located along the street. The slope of the site allows grade level access on both of the two floors with the primary public entrance on the upper level.

The new facility is also located between two existing KSP buildings providing ready access to the Information Services Center.
